Daily Debate results: Are Jim Miller, Clay Guida future UFC Hall of Famers?

There’s no one factor in making a Hall of Famer.

There are no-brainer picks, of course. If you don’t think Royce Gracie belongs in a Hall of Fame, you probably shouldn’t watch MMA.

Then there are consensus picks, the Randy Coutures and Urijah Fabers and whatnot whose contributions to the growth of the sport combined with their accomplishments in the cage made a real impact.

Then there are some out-of-the-box choices. Like Jim Miller and Clay Guida, who square off in the co-main event of UFC on ESPN 5 on Saturday.

Neither has held a UFC title. But they’ve been had tremendous staying power on a big-league level. They’ve provided the fans thrilling fights, win or lose. They’re still winning fights.

Is that enough to get them into the UFC Hall of Fame when they’re done?

We asked you, dear MMA Junkie Radio listeners, whether you believe they should make the cut. A plurality say yes, and, combined, a majority of you believe at least one belong.

UFC on ESPN 5's Jim Miller happy his last fight didn't end in bloodbath

NEWARK, N.J. – UFC lightweight Jim Miller fought in the octagon 30 times before his kids were able to see live what dad does for work. Thankfully, Miller’s four kids saw what happens when work goes well , though they were a little confused when he finished Jason Gonzalez at UFC on ESPN+ 8. “We come in the back, and (my son) was like, ‘Dad, did you win?'” Miller told MMA Junkie. “(I said), ‘You were right there.’ He said, ‘Well, it didn’t go three rounds.'” Tough crowd. Still, it was an otherwise triumphant night for Miller, who didn’t even realize his kids were going to be cageside. “I have squirted other people’s blood onto those seats, like specifically where they (were) sitting,” he said. “That is exactly where I had (Joe) Lauzon up against the cage and had that standing side choke and squirted his blood into the front row and ruined somebody’s expensive suit. “Good things happen.
